Château Soucherie

Somewhere roughly in the middle of the Loire Valley (well, give or take), 20 minutes south of Angers, Château Soucherie's 28 hectares spread out. It is a beautiful estate with a stunning view over the well-maintained vineyards and beyond. Here, wines are produced under various appellations including Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, and 1er Cru Chaume. The grapes are primarily chenin blanc and cabernet franc, but grolleau and gamay are also grown here. The wines are organic (since 2022) and distinctly well-made in an always stringent and clean style. The estate's main building, the château, was built in the 1800s to house the Duc de Brissac's sister, the Princesse d'Arenberg, who was fond of the estate's wines. Throughout the 1900s, the property and its nectar were gradually developed, earning a fine reputation both locally and in export markets. In 2007, the Beguinot family purchased Château Soucherie and shifted into a higher gear. Today, the estate and its wines enjoy a solid reputation among wine connoisseurs in France and beyond. Needless to say, we are proud to represent this gem among the Loire Valley's many talented producers.
