Terrific Wines is the importer for those looking for a personalized alternative, where quality and a focus on the long term trumps the quest for quick cash. Our business model is based on us doing as much as possible by ourselves and we wish to have a direct and personal relationship with all those we do business with. Our commitment to the long term means that we greatly value and take the time to build and promote the brand and image of our partners on the Swedish market. This means, in turn, that we won't work with just anyone – our business philosophy requires us to like both the wines we promote and the people making them.

Terrific Wines was founded by Lars Torstenson and Andreas Karlsson in 2009 (although 2011 is considered as being the company's first full year of activity). Both Lars and Andreas come from entrepreneurial, small business families and they have brought with them a spirit of personal responsibility and openness to opportunity to Terrific Wines. They also understand the value of details and hard work.

Andreas is a certified sommelier who has also worked as a chef. Having studied economics and history, he soon decided to change track and pursue a career in wines. Since then, his experience in the business has given him solid knowledge of the Swedish wine import industry. Having started his career at Terrific Wines working part time, he joined the company full-time in 2011 as CEO.

Lars moved to France in 1988 in order to manage the vineyard of AB Vin&Sprit, which at the time was Sweden's "super monopoly" for everything related to wine and alcoholic beverages. The move turned out to be a good decision as, only a few years later, in 1994, he was awarded the distinction "Vigneron de l'année" (Winemaker of the Year) by GaultMillau. Lars served on the board of directors of what was then the single largest wine importer in the Nordics, V&S Nordic Wine, and he has managed several vineyards and wine businesses over the years. He assists various clients as a flying winemaker since 2006, a job he combines with working at Terrific Wines since 2009.
