Giulia Negri

Giulia Negri
When your name is Negri and you hail from the area around La Morra in Barolo and Piemonte, the name carries certain obligations. Still very young in this context, Giulia wanted to do her own thing and therefore struck out on her own, barely dry behind the ears. In record time, she has come to create what we consider to be the future of Barolo - a blend of the traditional style and the recently modern, more extraction-oriented version. In short, Giulia manages to capture Barolo's soul and history without getting stuck in the not always entirely enjoyable traditional style. Perhaps most remarkable is that she manages to give her wine both more fruit and depth without working hard on extraction. We are, to say the least, impressed and can only agree with Giulia when she says, "now that the Baroloboys have grown up, time may have come for us, the Barologirls." Giulia works with simple methods, without secrets or advanced technology. We can only conclude that she is an extremely talented winemaker. Something that many others have also discovered. The international top ratings for her wines have in no time at all become legion.
