Monte Bluna

Monte Bluna
When António Guerreiro bought the old Aragonez vineyard next door to his home in Arruda dos Vinhos, Lisbon, Monte Bluna was born. Convinced of the potential of the land around his hometown, which bears the fitting name Arruda dos Vinhos, he planted Tinta Miúda (a Portuguese genotype) and other local varieties, including Arinto and Vital as well as Merlot. He enlisted his friend, winemaker Nuno Martins da Silva, to make the wines, and together they have made Monte Bluna a name to remember. Situated on limestone and clay soils, da Silva describes the windy, elevated vineyard at 350 metres above sea level as "even more special than we expected." Taste for yourself. The results are fantastic so far.
