Dominio de Tares is a fairly new producer in Bierzo with a young, innovative team striving to produce the best wines, typical of the area and made from the grapes Mencía and Godello. Several of the estate's vineyards are planted with 40- to 60-year-old vines, and each section of the vineyards is vinified separately before being blended into the best possible wine. The first vintage from Dominio de Tares was 2001. Working with vineyards spread across large areas is a given for Dominio de Tares, precisely to always have the best sites for micro- and meso-climate and grape variety.
