Fasoli Gino

Fasoli Gino
Great-grandfather Amadio Fasoli would have been pleased! In the early 1980s, when the majority of European wine estates were still shrouded in a chemical fog, Amadio's sons and grandsons decided to convert their vineyards to organic production. Ten years later, all of Fasoli Gino's vineyards were organically certified. Fasoli Gino became, and remains, a source of inspiration and support for other producers converting to organic farming, not just in Veneto and Italy but indeed across all of Europe. Today, the fourth generation of Fasolis has begun taking the helm, and young Matteo Fasoli oversees the vineyards stretching between Colognola ai Colli and Illasi in Valpolicella. Despite the generational shift, Matteo and Fasoli Gino produce wines that are true to their origins, vinifying each vineyard separately to highlight the distinctiveness of each microclimate and soil. In Sweden, we can now see evidence of their pioneering efforts in the form of the red wine La Corte del Pozzo Bardolino, a classic, elegant, and organic Bardolino at a very agreeable price point.
