Bardolino La Corte del Pozzo

SILVER MEDAL 2025 IN THE CATEGORY RED WINE 100-119 KR (Vinordic Wine Challenge). A classic from the slopes on Gardasjön's eastern side. Stylistically a departure from the heavier Appassimento and Ripasso wines that we have otherwise become accustomed to from Veneto. Instead, we have a light, fresh, and refreshing red wine that is ideally enjoyed chilled with mixed charcuterie and cheeses on a warm summer day, or with a warming Arrabiata on a rainy autumn day. The Italians' first choice for pizza. From the organic pioneer Fasoli Gino.

Character

Light, fresh, and fruity wine with notes of red berries, raspberry, and herbs.

Food pairing

Mixed charcuterie and cheeses, with lighter dishes of fish, chicken, or veal, as well as pasta with a rich tomato sauce.

Vinification

The grapes used for this wine are the same as in Valpolicella, but with Barolino's unique soil and proximity to Garda-sjön, they impart a completely different character to the wine than in the neighboring district. Harvest begins in mid-September, and once at the winery, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine rests on the grape skins for approximately 15 days before being clarified and then allowed to rest in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
