Barolo Marassio
Barolo Marassio
As the young and talented winemaker Giulia Negri has continued to build her life's work atop the hill of La Morra in Barolo, new wines have emerged. What we initially thought were the pinnacle of her quality pyramid are now the entry-level wines (!). Barolo Marassio is one of these new "cru wines" that Giulia produces at precisely 536 meters above sea level (the highest in Barolo). Here, the nebbiolo grape thrives in the calcareous clay soil, cultivated with Giulia's nature-oriented farming philosophy. This wine showcases Giulia's typical winemaking style – restrained power combined with elegance and light-footed fruit – and is a wine to enjoy with the delicacies of Piedmontese cuisine, charcuterie, and fine cuts of meat. It will last an eternity, or close to it, in the wine cellar.
