Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Like the slightly "simpler" Napa Valley Cabernet, Montelena produces here an extraordinarily elegant, complex and well-balanced wine that definitively belongs among the finest wines you can find from Napa Valley (and not only there…). Iconic is an understatement.

Character
Subdued, complex and fully vibrant nose with notes of dark cherries, blackcurrants, plums, spices, anise and oak. Well-integrated round tannins and a very long, pleasing finish. A great wine.
Food pairing
Grilled and pan-fried dishes of beef and game.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested between 16 September and 27 October after a long, cool summer. The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks and are then aged for 22 months in French barrels, of which 26% were new. After bottling, the wine is further aged for nearly 1.5 years in bottle before release.
